Every gallery I deliver—although it tells a client’s story—feels like a piece of me, too

My memory isn’t a steel trap, and I’m not the kind of person to cozy up for half an hour a day to journal. But you know that tight feeling you get in your chest when the weight of time’s swift passing settles in on you? That happens to me all the time. From forgetting which year we’re in when dating documents or realizing that my son was suddenly hip-high, I constantly feel like I’m fighting to be more present in each moment. To savor the moment before it’s gone forever.

So, it’s probably no surprise that I’ve had a camera dangling around my neck for as long as I can remember. I’ve always wanted to hold onto the moments that matter, and my time spent in pursuit of a photography degree from Carson-Newman University taught me how to refine that passion into art. But since I flipped my tassel nearly two decades ago, my art has grown, has deepened, has matured.

The galleries I deliver today are a celebration of "becoming" and a declaration that "we were here." They are a product of a lifetime of hopes, struggles, relationships, triumphs, values, births, deaths, and more.

From my personality to my work, I believe in blending opposites rather than eliminating them! Just like my introverted-extrovert personality (and those happy tears that are sure to appear on your big day), my favorite wedding celebrations bring some authenticity to the sophistication and simplicity to the opulence. And with my hybrid style (mixing film with digital), your images will look like they could have been taken just yesterday no matter when you return to them!

When I’m not meeting new couples or asking them to “scooch in and snuggle up” for the camera, I’m probably heading to a Mexican restaurant for chips and salsa, trying out a new recipe, or quilting with The Lord of the Rings playing for the millionth time in the background. But my family is my world. I can’t wait for you to meet my husband and second photographer, Ben, and maybe even little Jack (and his soon-to-arrive little brother!) on the journey to your big day.

I look forward to bringing your wedding day vision to life as we bring a new spin to old traditions and celebrate everything that makes your love story special.

“INCREDIBLY DOWN-TO-EARTH AND BROUGHT A CALMING PRESENCE.”

Even before getting engaged, I knew having a good photographer to capture our wedding day was going to be a top priority. After getting engaged, I reached out to Abigail immediately—before even confirming the booking with a venue! Her work speaks for itself, but it wasn't until I met her and her husband that I realized how lucky I was to have chosen someone like her for such a special event. Their attention to detail is unmatched. We had a bit of wind on our wedding day, and although I was nervous, I knew Abigail would be able to still pull off capturing beautiful photos (which she did!). My whole family loved her so much as well! I have gotten so many compliments on how sweet and candid our wedding photos are, and it is all thanks to Abigail and her husband.

KInd Words:

When the biggest day of your life is on the line, you don’t want to leave anything to chance. And neither do I! From the moment you begin my client journey, I ensure you stay in the loop, receive prompt communication, and guarantee all the big decisions are made well in advance.

BEING A LITTLE “TYPE A” IS A GOOD THING

You and I totally agree that...

It doesn’t take half a dozen towering floral installations or a five-course meal to make a perfect wedding day. Those might be nice, but as long as the people we love make the trip, it truly will be the best day ever. No matter where you’re saying “I do,” you can count on me to find delicate natural details and radiant light to showcase every tender glance and whispered, “I love you.”

THE SIMPLE THINGS ARE USUALLY THE MOST BEAUTIFUL

The ability to freeze fleeting moments in time so we can return to them over and over again is something I’ve loved since I was just a kid. My memory isn’t super vivid, so I rely on photography to take me back in time and keep the details from going fuzzy. And when you’re as nostalgic as I am (and I bet as you are, too) there’s nothing more important than that!

PHOTOGRAPHY IS THE BEST INVENTION EVER (WELL, MAYBE SECOND ONLY TO THE HOT WATER HEATER)
