John and Abigail Pothen were married in the summer of 2014 in a small Virginia chapel. Their wedding was beautiful, but with John entering medical school, they had to keep it simple. For their third wedding anniversary, the couple decided to renew their vows. Only this time, they were able to add the details that reflect their unique story.

She was so much fun! She had great ideas for a spot for our engagement photos and did more unique poses instead of the typical poses you see. I love that she uses real film. She captured our wedding day perfectly and I can’t wait to use her again in the future!

Three words come to mind with describing Abigail Malone: Timeless, Talented, and Tremendous. I feel beyond blessed to have had the privilege to her as my wedding photographer. My husband, Jordan, and I used Abby for our engagement session, my bridal portraits, our actual wedding day from start to finish, and more. She went above and beyond with amazing timeliness to her work, unique detailing, and professional equipment. There is something to be said for a photographer who makes you feel like she isn’t even there, leaving the intimate moments organic yet instructing you to get the best shots. She is truly one of the easiest people to connect with and has one of the most kind spirits I have ever met. I consider her a dear friend now, and can’t wait for the many more seasons of our life she will photograph.

Abby was absolutely phenomenal. She is incredibly professional, and she knows exactly what she is doing. I wish she could photograph my whole life! The pictures are absolutely stunning from all of the times I worked with her (engagement, bridal, wedding). I can’t wait to find a reason to hire her again. She’s great to work with, and she has a deep knowledge of photography. I love her style, and I absolutely loved how she so perfectly captured all of the joy and emotions at the wedding. All of the pictures are so full of light and life. She kept us on schedule while still managing to capture all of the special moments in detail.

There is just something so magical about the colors of early November. The overcast sky seems to intensify the rustic and earthy tones that are so perfectly translated on film.
