What was your wedding venue and why did you choose it?
Our wedding was at The Standard in Downtown Knoxville. After looking at several different options, we felt like this was the perfect fit for our intimate December wedding. We both loved the industrial feel with the exposed beams and brick. It was also the perfect size for our number of guests.
What was your favorite wedding detail?
My favorite detail was my flowers! Samuel Franklin took my vision and ran with it, and they couldn’t have turned out more beautifully. The arbor was pure perfection!
What was your favorite wedding day memory:
It was all so great, it’s hard to pick! However, I would have to say my favorite was my Dad walking me down the aisle. It was a bittersweet moment for him, but having him by my side put my nerves at ease. It was such a special feeling to walk in a see all our family and friends gathered together to celebrate us. Jeremy told me afterwards I ran down the aisle!
Describe some personal touches:
One goal I had for my wedding was to honor and remember my Mamaw Brenda. My Mamaw lived with us for 14 years before she passed and my love for her runs deeper than our shared love for all things sweet! (and that’s deep!) We had several family friends help us by using her hot chocolate recipe to make our take away favors, complete with a tag including her signature. I decided to also tie a blue topaz ring she wore often into my bouquet as my “something blue.” Lastly, knowing how much I loved her, my sweet friend Sarah gave me a dress pin with her picture on it. I know she would have been tickled pink with how beautiful everything turned out.
Describe your experience with Abigail Malone as your wedding photographer.
We had a wonderful experience with Abigail Malone! From our first engagement session, she was helpful, professional, and so easy to work with! Her work is timeless and beautiful, which is exactly what we wanted in our photographer. We had the hardest time picking the photos for our wedding album because they were all so wonderful!! The fact that she uses film makes a huge difference in the quality of her finished products. She is well worth the investment and she has provided us with photos we will treasure for a lifetime!
